Liverpool have joined the race to sign top Manchester United target Roberto Firmino from Hoffenheim, according to reports from the Mirror.
The 23-year-old was heavily linked with a switch to the Premier League after his agent, Roger Wittmann, revealed that England is likely to be his next destination.
“All I can say is that he will go to England,” he said.
United have been monitoring the situation of the midfielder throughout the previous campaign, but late interest from the Reds may have halted his potential move to Old Trafford.
Apart from the two mentioned sides, Manchester City are also keen on the services of the Brazil international, especially with the club likely to undergo a squad overhaul in the upcoming window.
Firmino still has two years left on his deal with the Bundesliga outfits where he caught the eye of a host of European sides due to his performance.
He featured for his side on 36 occasions this season in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and also providing a further 12 assists.
