Everton are preparing another attempt to secure the services of Manchester United’s Tom Cleverley, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa, Express reports.
The 25-year-old’s spell at Villa Park is nearing an end, but will need to find a new club after Louis van Gaal is unlikely to include the midfielder into his plans for next season.
Manager Roberto Martinez was close to completing a deal for Cleverley to join the Toffees during the summer, but he opted to join Villa after a breakdown in negotiations.
However, with Martinez looking to reinforce his squad, he is already planning another offer to secure a permanent move for the United midfielder.
The Red Devils flop has been a season regular for his current club, featuring 25 times out of a possible 32 league games.
In addition to the potential transfer of the English midfielder, the Merseyside club will also have to consider whether to sign Tottenham Hotspur loanee Aaron Lennon on a permanent basis as well.
