Manchester United may be forced to look elsewhere for a centre-back, after Paris Saint-Germain ruled out the potential sale of Marquinhos, according to reports from the Express.
Marquinhos is yet to earn himself a regular role at PSG, as Brazilian duo Thiago Silva and David Luiz are often preferred by manager Laurent Blanc in the back line.
Blanc has now come out to reveal that the defender will not be sold, as he will be doing all he can to ensure his stay.
“Marquinhos has a spirit and a special mentality,” he said.
“We have done everything to keep him and we will do everything possible to extend his contract.”
Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is surely not willing to meet their expected price-tag, as United are only keen on doing business with a bid around the £30million region.
Although Marquinhos isn’t the first choice selection for Blanc, he has already been given 16 Ligue-1 starts so far this season, scoring one goal.
