Manchester United are hoping to complete a deal for Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller this summer, according to reports from the Metro.
Muller was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford for much of the summer, with the Red Devils reportedly submitting a massive £70million bid for the Germany international.
But the two clubs failed to come to an agreement, which saw the Red Devils go and sign Anthony Martial from Monaco for £36million instead.
Yet it seems that United are not ready to end their pursuit of the forward, with reports from Spain suggesting that Louis van Gaal will try again in January after now knowing the cost to bring him to England.
The 26-year-old worked under Van Gaal before when the Dutchman was in charge of the Bavarians, and his relationship could help convince Muller to look for a new challenge.
Last season Muller played 48 games in all competitions, scoring 21 goals.
