Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs will walk away from his boyhood club if former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is appointed this summer, according to The Mirror.
The Red Devils are in the fight to finish in the top four this season but there are real doubts over the future of Louis van Gaal.
Despite the experienced Dutchman still having another 12 months on his contract at Old Trafford, media speculation states that the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich trainer is set to be replaced by Mourinho this summer.
The successful Portuguese coach was sacked by Chelsea earlier this season but is being lined up as the man to bring the glory days back to the Manchester club.
Giggs has ambitions of managing at United also and is being groomed by Van Gaal as a possible boss once he retires.
However, the latest report suggests that the Welshman will look to take his first step into management elsewhere should Mourinho be appointed in the summer.
