Man United look to teenager in injury crisis

Manchester United have called up 18-year-old striker Marcus Rashford for today’s clash with Watford, as Louis van Gaal looks to overcome an injury crisis, The Daily Mail report.

The Old Trafford outfit travel to Vicarage Road without the likes of Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial, with Marouane Fellaini also absent due to a calf strain.

As such, Van Gaal has turned to Rashford, who plays for and captains the Red Devils’ under-19 side, to make up the numbers.

The powerful attacker has six goals in 11 games this season and is widely expected to be on the bench against the newly promoted side, with United hoping three points will take them to the top of the league temporarily before Manchester City face Liverpool.

Any introduction would be Rashford’s Premier League debut and shows the lack of strength in depth in attack after United parted company with Robin van Persie, Javier Hernandez and Radamel Falcao in the summer.
