Manchester United have made Southampton star Sadio Mane their top transfer target in the upcoming January window, according to reports from the Express.
Mane was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford during the summer, but the Saints were unwilling to let one of their star players depart so close to transfer deadline, turning down a £20million bid from the Red Devils.
However, it has been claimed that United will knock on the St. Mary’s door once again this January, but may need to pay up to £30million to lure away the Senegal international.
Man United manager Louis van Gaal has recently admitted that signing a winger is one of his main priorities, and Mane would be the perfect candidate to add pace down the flanks.
If additional bids for Mane were to be rejected, Van Gaal could shift his attentions to Bournemouth midfielder Matt Ritchie instead, with the Scotland international expected to be significantly cheaper than the Southampton ace.
Mane made 40 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring 13 goals.
