Manchester United have ‘opened talks’ with Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent in an attempt to bring the Real Madrid star back to Old Trafford, according to Metro.
The Portuguese star left the English club in 2009 and has gone on to be crowned the Ballon d’Or winner in the last two years.
However, despite proving himself as one of the world’s best players at the Santiago Bernabeu, United have supposedly contacted Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes over a potential summer deal.
Louis van Gaal’s men are reportedly willing to pay €100 million for the Portugal international, who has not been in his best form for Los Blancos since the turn of the year.
Ronaldo has repeatedly spoken out about his love for the Manchester club but is currently in a long-term deal with the European champions.
Madrid surely would be reluctant to sell their attacking talisman, but the player’s decision over his future could well have a major say in any potential deal.
