Man United manager faces selection headache after NINTH injury blow

Manchester United could now be without Antonio Valencia for their upcoming match against West Bromwich Albion after the midfielder became their ninth injured player, Daily Star reports.

The 29-year-old picked up a hamstring injury during their victory over Everton in the last round of Premier League fixtures and is likely to not feature in their upcoming clash.

Valencia’s knock will now cause some selection headaches for Louis van Gaal as yet another midfielder will be unavailable after recently losing Ander Herrera through injury and Wayne Rooney through suspension.

The unavailable pair is joined by Paddy McNair, Chris Smalling, Jonny Evans, Ashley Young, Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard, and Michael Carrick.

With up to nine first team players not able to be part of their upcoming clash, Van Gaal will need to act fast in trying to find suitable replacements capable of stepping up to the plate.

McNair and Tyler Blackett were recently called up to the senior squad and have been putting in a top performance, hinting that their manager could once again turn to the youth squad in order to fix their current fitness problems.
