Manchester United have met with the agent of Karim Benzema amid speculation of a potential £40million move from Real Madrid, Manchester Evening News reports.
The club’s executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, was seen with Karim Djaziri at a hotel in London with talks of a transfer believed to be the topic of discussion.
United are said to be in the market for another striker after struggling to find the net on many occasions throughout the previous season.
Robin van Persie is still considering his future at Old Trafford and is currently being linked with a move to Juventus as well as Inter Milan.
They also rejected a permanent move for Monaco star Radamel Falcao following an unconvincing loan spell this term, prompting his return to France.
With Wayne Rooney and James Wilson the only two strikers left, the arrival of Benzema will be seen as a huge boost for the Red Devils in their bids to compete in Europe.
The France international featured for the La Liga giants 46 times in all competitions this season, scoring 22 goals and providing 15 assists.
