Manchester United star Michael Carrick is believed to have turned down an offer from Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports from the Express.
The 34-year-old was targeted by PSG boss Laurent Blanc after United completed summer deals for midfield pair Morgan Schneiderlin as well as Bastian Schweinsteiger.
However, with Carrick only penning a new deal back in March, he rejected the chance to join the Ligue 1 winners in favour of an Old Trafford stay.
Even though Blanc is now likely to miss out on the services of the midfielder, he is now close to completing a deal to sign Angel Di Maria from the Red Devils.
The Argentina international has struggled to live up to his record breaking transfer fee following his move from Real Madrid last summer, with manager Louis van Gaal now ready to take a loss in order to push the move.
He is now tipped to complete a medical with the French giants in the next 24 hours, ending his rather short career in the Premier League.
