Man United plot huge move to sign Juventus defender

Manchester United are considering a move to sign Juventus star Leonardo Bonucci in order to reinforce their back line ahead of the new campaign, Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The 28-year-old centre-back is also being tracked by Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester City, with the Serie A champions likely to snub any incoming offers.

He is believed to be valued at around the £39.4million region, with his price expected to rise depending on the amount of interest in his services during the upcoming window.

The Red Devils have been in search of more defensive reinforcements in recent months given their injury crisis as they target a host of high-profile names.

Apart from Bonucci, United have also been linked with moves for Everton’s John Stones, Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane, as well as Athletic Bilbao’s Aymeric Laporte.

The Italy international has already featured 36 times in all competitions for his side this term, so far managing to score one goal while providing another one assist.
