Manchester United are believed to be preparing to make a £24million offer to try and sign Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben, a player Louis van Gaal has been linked to ever since he took charge of the club, Metro reports.
The 30-year-old earlier rejected a move when the Red Devils came knocking claiming that he was happy playing for the current Bundesliga champions.
However, it was revealed that the United manager had scheduled a private meeting with the Dutch winger in hopes he can convince him to make a move back to the Premier League.
Although Bayern will be uninterested in partying ways with one of their main attacking outlets, they may consider a switch if Van Gaal can convince the board to increase their offer.
The German side will surely have adequate cover should Robben decide to leave with the club also believed to be in the chase of Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus to add to their ranks.
