Manchester United are preparing an offer to sign former Manchester City defender Stefan Savic, who is now playing for Fiorentina, according to reports from the Metro.
The 24-year-old played for City during the 2011-2012 campaign, but after making only 11 appearances, he was included in a swap deal with the Viola, while Matija Nastasic completed a move in the opposite direction.
It is believed that scouts from United have since been keeping tabs on the Montenegro international and based on his form, he could be set for a return to the Premier League.
Despite Savic only penning a new three-year contract during the January window, United boss Louis van Gaal could still be keen on making an offer as he is still in the market for some more defensive reinforcements.
Talks are said to have taken place between the Red Devils and the centre-back’s representatives during the previous window, but after a move failed to materialize, Van Gaal may reignite his interest in the summer.
