Manchester United are closing in on a move to sign Southampton ace Jake Hesketh as they look to add more youth talent into their ranks, Daily Mail reports.
The 19-year-old has been a standout candidate for the Saints’ academy setup as United have been monitoring his situation over the past few years.
Hesketh is being tipped to become a Premier League star after managing to score 13 goals for the Under-18 squad, the most for his team, before being named Scholar of the Season back in 2013.
His swift rise to fame has now seen him called up by Saints boss Ronald Koeman to train and continue his development with the senior squad.
He has so far featured in 10 Under-21 Premier League fixtures and has been able to score three goals while being able to provide another one assist.
The Red Devils are planning to develop their youth academy having only recently finishing the construction of their £200million training complex.
