Man United receive double boost as two stars set to extend stay

Manchester United have been boosted as both Phil Jones and Ashley Young are set to extend their stay at Old Trafford, according to reports from the Express.

The pair is set to join Michael Carrick and Chris Smalling, who have both already signed a new contract to ensure their place in the squad next season.

Jones has been one of the standout defenders for manager Louis van Gaal this season and is in line to be offered a new four-year deal, with an option to extend his stay another year should he decide to do so.

Young has emerged as another key member despite being tipped to leave prior to the start of the campaign, and will be offered a similar three-year deal.

The Dutch manager is already making plans for the future as he prepares to undergo yet another squad overhaul this summer with hopes of preparing his team for Champions League football.
