Manchester United are currently unwilling to meet Barcelona star Pedro’s £23million release clause to facilitate the transfer, according to reports from the Mirror.
United have been heavily linked with a move for Pedro in recent weeks, especially after the sale of Angel di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain being completed on Thursday.
Pedro has found regular playing time hard to come by at the Nou Camp the past season, playing behind the likes of Luis Suarez, Neymar, and Lionel Messi in the attacking pecking order.
His frustrations have therefore alerted Man United boss Louis van Gaal, who is keen to bring the Spain international to play alongside Wayne Rooney and Memphis Depay in a 4-3-3 setup.
However, the Red Devils have been reluctant to meet his £23million buy-out clause, and are attempting to lower his price to around the £17million region.
The 28-year-old started 15 league games last season, coming on as a substitute another 20 times during their treble winning campaign.
