Manchester United have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Breel Embolo from FC Basel to reinforce their attack, Express reports.
The 18-year-old has emerged as a striking target for a host of clubs, with Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona also said to be keen on his services.
United have been struggling to find the back of the net this season, scoring a total of only 20 goals so far, the lowest when compared to the other clubs in the top four.
Captain Wayne Rooney has also been unable to replicate his previous scoring form for manager Louis van Gaal this term, so far registering only two goals.
According to Swiss media outlet Blick, United scouts were present to monitor the displays of the Swiss forward when Basel took on Fiorentina in the Europa League last week.
Embolo has featured 12 times in the Swiss Super League and another five times in Europe this term, scoring seven goals so far.
