Man United set to rival Arsenal in transfer chase for PL’s top enforcer

According to reports from The Express, Manchester United have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante.

The France international has emerged as arguably the most formidable enforcer in the Premier League since arriving at the King Power Stadium from Caen last summer, going to on to average the second-most tackles (4.5) and second-most interceptions (4.2) per match of any player in the division.

According to The Express, Arsenal are targeting the tough-tackling the 25-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window in a bid to beef up their engine room.

But citing reports from The Sun, The Express also claim Manchester United have entered the race to sign Kante, with former manager Sir Alex Ferguson recently expressing his admiration for the midfielder’s role in Leicester City’s shock Premier League title bid.

Arsenal face West Ham United in the Premier League this weekend, whilst Manchester United travel to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
