Manchester United star Antonio Valencia has undergone surgery to his foot following an injury he picked up against Manchester City last month, according to reports from talkSPORT.
Valencia was forced off the field during the goalless draw in the Manchester derby and has had to wait until this week to perform an operation, which has reportedly gone as planned ahead of his rehabilitation period.
The Ecuador international started the campaign behind summer signing Matteo Darmian in the Red Devils pecking order at right back, but his upturn in form saw him overtake the Italian as Louis van Gaal’s main man.
However, Valencia is now set to spend a few months on the sidelines but is at least happy that the surgery has been completed.
He Tweeted: “Thank God came out well from the operation. Now think about my recovery.”
