Manchester United star Ander Herrera believes his side can overtake rivals Manchester City to a top four finish this season, according to reports from Skysports.
The 26-year-old has seen his side struggle a number of times earlier in the campaign as they have been inconsistent in their performance.
However, after picking up a run of positive results, United now find themselves only a point away from fourth place side Manchester City with seven league matches still to play.
Herrera admitted that the entire squad will be fighting to the very end in their chase for a Champions League spot, while also adding that they now have what it takes to compete with their city rivals.
“Man United should be every year in the Champions League,” he said.
“I think the last 25 or 26 years, just one time we didn’t play Champions League, so we want to be there.
“Man City has a bigger squad, very good players, but I think right now we can fight against them.”
“We are Man United, we as players are obligated to fight until the end and I think we have the quality to be there.
The Red Devils recently overcame Everton 1-0 and will face another tough task this coming weekend as they take on second place side Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
City are also quite busy this week as they travel to Paris Saint-Germain to take part in the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday before facing West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
