Manchester United have been boosted by the by the news that Angel di Maria only suffered a minor injury when he limped off during the Red Devils’ 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion on Monday, Daily Mail reports.
The Argentina international was carefully treated at United’s Carrington training centre on Wednesday and it seems that Di Maria will be fit for the clash against top-of-the-table Chelsea this weekend.
Di Maria became the club’s – and the British – transfer record when he made a £59.7million move from Real Madrid during the summer, and has become an integral part to Louis van Gaal’s side scoring three goals and supplying four assists in his five appearances.
The Dutch manager will therefore be extremely anxious over his star player’s fitness, and sources nearby have suggested that the 26-year-old has a very good chance to face the current Premier League leaders.
“It was just a kick,” the Old Trafford source said.
Meanwhile Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea are currently facing an injury issue of their own, as the Portuguese boss confirmed that star striker Diego Costa and his backup Loic Remy are both set to miss the game at Old Trafford come Sunday.
