Manchester United star David De Gea is demanding to leave the club before their clash against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, according to reports from the Express.
De Gea has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid the past few months, with the La Liga giants extremely keen on bringing the goalkeeper to replace departed icon Iker Casillas between the posts.
However, the transfer failed to materialize after the Red Devils asked for Sergio Ramos in return, causing a standstill in negotiations.
Now with Ramos extending his contract with Real, United have no chance of luring the Spain centre-back to Old Trafford, but De Gea is still hoping to make the switch.
And the 24-year-old looks set to receive a hostile reception if he starts the season opener for United this Saturday, with Real also eager for De Gea not to feature ahead of a potential move.
United currently value the former Atletico Madrid man around the £30million region, and although his contract will expire in a year’s time, the 10-European champions hope to have a deal finalized before the upcoming La Liga campaign.
