Man United star has 24 hours to be given Real Madrid lifeline

Manchester United star Javier Hernandez will only have until Friday to find out if Real Madrid want sign him on a permanent basis, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The 26-year-old has a clause in his loan deal that gives Madrid first-option to sign him, but will see that option taken out this Friday.

This means a number of other interested sides including West Ham United, Southampton, and Lazio, will all be free to make offers to try and lure the Mexico international to their respective sides.

United manager Louis van Gaal admitted that the striker was not part of his plans after taking over from David Moyes in the summer, and is looking to consider offers of around £10million.

Hernandez was almost set to return to Old Trafford at the end of the current campaign, but after netting three goals in his last two matches, Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is reconsidering the deal.

His latest goals have now taken his tally with the La Liga giants to seven out of 24 appearances in all competitions this season.
