Man United star has contract terminated

Nick Powell’s loan deal from Manchester United to Leicester City has been cancelled by the Foxes gaffer Nigel Pearson, write the Telegraph.

Pearson has reportedly had enough of the former Crewe midfielder’s timekeeping and general application in training – despite Leicester’s slump to the foot of the Premier League table, Powell hasn’t even made the matchday 18 for the Foxes’ previous two Premier League games.

Louis van Gaal had the option to recall Powell in January due to initial agreement and the Red Devils are almost certain to do so, with Bolton Wanderers already linked with a loan move for the player Sir Alex Ferguson – the manager who brought Powell to Old Trafford – once described as a future England international.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a relatively successful campaign with Wigan Athletic in the Championship last season – which included their Europa League run – making 37 apperances across both competitions and bagging 10 goals and two assists.
