Manchester United star Angel Di Maria has joined the rest of his club team-mate on their pre-season tour of North America, but speculation continues to circulate over his future at Old Trafford.
The Argentina international was part of the Albiceleste side that was beaten in the final of the Copa America over the summer and as such has been handed an extended break over the off-season.
However, Louis van Gaal has confirmed that Di Maria and compatriot Marcos Rojo are due to meet up with the rest of the Red Devils’ squad in America.
“I expect him here because we have communicated that and they have responded on that,” The Telegraph quote the Dutch maestro as saying.
The former Bayern Munich boss went on to state that the versatile attacker would not play a part in Saturday’s clash with Barcelona.
Despite Di Maria flying to America, The Mirror continue to state that his future is at Paris Saint-Germain.
They report that the former Real Madrid man will join the Ligue 1 champions this week in a £45.9million move, leaving United after only one season.
Di Maria did not show his best form for the Red Devils last season and as such the Old Trafford outfit are considering cutting their losses on the South American star.
