Former Manchester United attacker Louis Saha has stated that Anthony Martial has the potential to be as good as Arsenal legend Thierry Henry when he develops.
The young striker moved to Old Trafford from Monaco in the summer and has had an impressive debut campaign in English football.
Martial has adapted to Premier League football quickly and has thrived in both a role as a centre forward and on the flanks.
Henry is regarded as one of the finest players to have played in England during the Premier League era and is Arsenal’s all-time top goalscorer.
Both players came through the fabled Monaco youth academy, with Henry going on to win silverware and be a star for Arsenal, Barcelona and France.
With Martial set to feature for Les Bleus this summer at Euro 2016, Saha has been talking up the youngster’s potential and ability to make an impression despite his young age.
“He has definitely got the quality and the platform for working really hard at Manchester United,” Saha told the United website.
“When you get that, you get the experience under your belt of being at a big club and you get respected easier with France. When you see him, he has as much quality as Thierry Henry at this age.
“Thierry was a really decisive player and that is where Martial needs to work. He needs to be more precise and give more indication to his game.
“Everything seems to be easy for him: being on the ball, being strong, holding the ball at the right moments, getting important goals and being able to play week-in and week-out.”
