Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria has revealed that he is very happy to be joining Paris Saint-Germain upon passing his medical, according to reports from Sky Sports.
The 27-year-old struggled to live up to his record breaking price tag following his £59.7million move from Real Madrid last summer.
Despite the player earlier admitting that he wants to prove himself at Old Trafford for the upcoming campaign, PSG looks to have instead lured him to Ligue 1 for a fee said to be around the £44million region.
Di Maria has now come out to state his happiness over the imminent move to France as he targets a successful season once the transfer is confirmed.
“I am very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain. What I know about PSG is that they are a team who have won all possible titles in France last season. They’re very important,” he said.
“They made it to the quarter-finals of the Champions League so my objective was to arrive to Paris and to help them through the quarter-final barrier, because they have struggled in the past two seasons.”
The Argentina international featured a total of 27 times in the Premier League last term, scoring only four goals, but did manage to register 10 assists.
Although his switch to the French champions is yet to be finalized, PSG boss Laurent Blanc earlier revealed that the winger is close to signing a contract with them.
