Manchester United star Robin van Persie has revealed that he doesn’t want to leave the club in the upcoming transfer window, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The 31-year-old will see his contract expire at the end of the current campaign with speculation that he could be sold this summer.
However, the Netherlands international is keen to stay until his deal runs out and hopes to be part of manager Louis van Gaal’s plans for the new season.
A close source to Van Persie revealed that the striker is in no rush to leave and is willing to stay and help his squad in the final year of his contract.
With Wayne Rooney picking up a knee injury in the 3-0 loss to Everton, the Dutchman is tipped to lead the line ahead of under-performing teammate Radamel Falcao against West Bromwich Albion this coming weekend.
Despite retaining the services of the former Arsenal forward, Van Gaal is still in the market for another world class striker, with Paris Saint-Germain star Edinson Cavani a possible candidate.
