Manchester United star Ashley Young has told his teammates that they have to beat Wolfsburg in order to keep their Champions League dream alive, Mirror reports.
The 30-year-old has given his team a rallying cry ahead of their upcoming clash after his side failed to pick up points in the opening game of the competition.
United suffered a 2-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven and was also hit with a major injury blow during the match when Luke Shaw broke his right left, ruling him out of action for six to nine months.
Young revealed that since this is a home game, his side will have to pick up all the points they can at Old Trafford in order to stand a chance to progress into the latter stages of the tournament.
“It’s important to get a win against Wolfsburg,” he said.
“If you want to win the Champions League, then you have to win your home games.
“We have to start winning in the group now.”
The Red Devils will go into the upcoming match full of confidence given that they are now top of the Premier League following their 3-0 victory over Sunderland at the weekend.
