Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal could let Rafael leave in the summer, as he plans his second squad overhaul, Metro reports.
The 24-year-old has been struggling with a number of injuries in the first half of the campaign, and looks to have lost his role as the squad’s first choice right back.
Van Gaal is now being tipped to offload a number players deemed surplus to requirements, with the Brazilian being amongst the names.
He only has a year left on his current deal at Old Trafford, and given his lack of playing time, he may not decide to extend his stay, a factor that could lead to United cashing in on his services.
In addition, the Dutch boss may even hand the position over to Paddy McNair, with the 19-year-old only recently signing a new deal.
