Manchester United have started the scramble to sign Southampton star Sadio Mane by making a £25 million bid for the gifted attacker, The Sun state.
The African attacker has been a sensation at St Mary’s Stadium over recent seasons and is adjudged as one of the most dangerous forwards in the Premier League.
Despite the Saints finishing sixth in 2015-16, the south coast club are expected to face a real challenge in their attempts to hold onto Mane, who is being linked with a host of leading English and European sides.
United are believed to have made overtures to land the star last summer but their approach was knocked back by Southampton manager Ronald Koeman.
However, there is a grim inevitability that Mane could well on his way to the St Mary’s exit door this time round and the Red Devils are willing to part company with a cool £25 million to land the forward.
