In line with recent reports from the Express, Radamel Falcao has admitted it was a mistake to join Manchester United after being forced to train with the under 21s this week.
Whilst no actual quotes are offered from the player himself, it is insinuated that Colombian international is getting second thoughts about his Old Trafford move after failing to play any part in his side’s recent FA Cup disappointment at the hands of Arsenal.
Louis van Gaal has the option to sign Falcao at the end of the season for a reported £43.5 million, but as the former Atletico Madrid and Porto man has simply failed to do the business for Manchester United this season, such a deal is now starting to seem unlikely at best.
Falcao is suggested to not have been a priority signing for the Red Devils’ Dutch boss last summer. In missing out on several other supposed targets, Man United eventually landed the Colombian on loan from Ligue 1 outfit Monaco – but if things had gone according to plan for van Gaal – maybe the deal would have never been finalised in the first place.
United are now reportedly turning their attention to PSG’s Edinson Cavani among several other highly coveted striking talents from across Europe.
