Manchester United star Daley Blind may have sustained knee ligament damage while playing in Netherlands’ Euro 2016 Qualifier against Latvia, Sky Sports reports.
The Dutch went on to win 6-0 but Man United ace Blind limped off in the 20th minute and is now awaiting MRI scans to confirm the extent of the injury.
But it looks like bad news for the Red Devils after Holland manager Guus Hiddink expects the injury to be a knee ligament problem.
“I’m rather negative,” he said. “I think it’s a medial ligament that is twisted. It might be a rupture.”
Blind transferred to United during the summer from Ajax, and has put in some impressive displays for his new side.
The 25-year-old could now miss several months of football, which will be a big blow to Man United manager Louis van Gaal who already has a long injury list.
However Blind is trying to remain positive, tweeting: “I’m proud of my 25 games for the Dutch national team, but I’m so gutted with my injury… I’ll stay positive (and) will come back stronger! Nevertheless a great win, 6-0!”
