Barcelona stars Lionel Messi and Neymar has come out to reveal that they are hoping Manchester United target Dani Alves snubs a move to Old Trafford, Express reports.
The 32-year-old is heavily linked with an exit from the La Liga giants after rejected their latest contract offer despite being used on a regular basis at the club.
Alves revealed that he is almost certain to leave the Camp Nou in the summer, while admitting to his problems reaching an agreement with the board.
“I have to say I am with the team 200 per cent but with the board about 10 per cent,” he said.
“As it is, I have one foot, half a body and almost my head out of the club.”
Neymar has come out to say that if he was in charge of the Catalan club, he would instantly renew his contract to ensure his fellow countryman remains at the side.
“I hope that he stays. If I were president I would renew his contract. To be more clear? Impossible,” he said.
Even Messi was full of praise for his teammate, revealing that a full-back who possesses the qualities of the Brazilian is hard to come by.
“He’s a very complete player, the best full-back in the world I think,” he said.
“It’s very hard to find a full-back like Dani with the ability he has and with the attitude that he plays every game, it’s difficult to find that today.”
Apart from the Red Devils, Liverpool were also hoping to bring the right-back to Anfield, but it is likely that he will accept a move to United given their access to Champions League football.
