Manchester United have entered the race to sign Barcelona forward Pedro and will meet his £22 million release clause, according to The Guardian.
The Spain international attacker has been a key member of a successful Catalan side for many years, but found his first-team opportunities limited last term due to the attacking trident of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.
The La Masia graduate did sign a new contract with the European champions a couple of months ago, but this is believed to possess a release clause to allow him to move another club if he so desires.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for Pedro this summer, but it appears that Louis van Gaal has also set his sights on the Spaniard also.
United are light on strikers currently, but possess lots of wingers. As such, should Pedro arrive he would have the likes of Ashley Young, Angel Di Maria, Memphis Depay and Adnan Januzaj for competition.
