Manchester United are close to signing Monaco right-back Fabinho, according to The Sun.
Jose Mourinho has taken over at Old Trafford and has made a number of impressive signings to bolster his squad ahead of the new season.
All the talk has been over a potential world-record deal to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus, but it also appears that the Red Devils will bolster their options at full-back in coming days.
Fabinho has impressed at Monaco in a young team that used to contain Anthony Martial, with United returning to steal another of the Stade Louis II outfit’s prize assets.
The Brazil international is versatile enough to play in midfield also but is being regarded as the solution to United’s right-back position, which has not had a commanding figure dominate it since the days of Gary Neville.
Fabinho’s capture would cast doubts over the future of Matteo Darmian, while Antonio Valencia will also seemingly be reduced to fringe status.
