Manchester United are considering a swap deal involving Juan Mata in their attempts to sign Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann, The Sun reports.
The 27-year-old has already been linked with a move to the La Liga giants, while United, along with Chelsea, have been keen to add Griezmann into their ranks.
Mata’s future at Old Trafford is in serious doubts amid speculation that former Blues boss Jose Mourinho is set to replace current manager Louis van Gaal in the summer.
Mourinho shares a strained relationship with the midfielder and was the one that decided to sell him to United during his time at Stamford Bridge.
With Griezmann having a £60million buy-out clause tied into his contract, the Red Devils are said to be prepared to include Mata into the deal in order to lower the potential transfer fee.
The France international has already featured 33 times in all competitions this term, scoring 19 goals while providing another four assists.
