Manchester United are once again considering to sack manager Louis van Gaal following another poor display in their 1-0 FA Cup win over Sheffield United, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The Red Devils only managed to win the clash in the 90th minute via a Wayne Rooney penalty despite being heavy favourites with the top 10 football betting sites, but the performance itself was poor and lacklustre from a team of United’s calibre.
And despite being given the backing by the board during the Christmas period, it seems as if the Glazers are ready to change their minds after their latest ‘boring’ display.
It took 70 minutes for United to register their first shot on target, with fans booing the team and the manager both at half time and at the final whistle.
If Van Gaal is unable to guide his side to a win against Newcastle United and rivals Liverpool in their next two fixtures, the Dutchman could be axed before the end of the transfer window.
Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been linked with the position, but the Red Devils hierarchy are currently reluctant to hire a manager of his style.
