Manchester United are pushing to sign former hero Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid this summer, according to reports from the Manchester Evening News.
United have been extremely active in the transfer market as they look to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League and hope Ronaldo is part of their roster.
But although the Portuguese superstar has been linked almost every summer, this time a deal could really be in the works with Ronaldo unhappy with new Real Madrid manager Rafa Benitez.
The 30-year-old also openly supported ex-manager Carlo Ancelotti before the Italian was sacked at the end of the season, which has hinted of a rift between the three-time Ballon D’or winner and Benitez.
With the La Liga giants still keen on Red Devils goalkeeper David de Gea, a potential cash + player swap deal for Ronaldo is a possibility after Real already confirmed that Man United target Sergio Ramos will not be sold this summer.
Ronaldo played 54 games in all competitions last season, scoring 61 goals.
