Manchester United are considering a move to trigger the £58.8million release clause tied into the contract of Benfica star Renato Sanches, Express reports.
The 19-year-old has constantly been monitored by the Premier League giants and is currently valued as a great asset for the Portuguese club.
Benfica recently promoted the central midfielder to the first team before handing him a new deal which included the hefty release clause.
Portuguese news outlet O Jogo revealed that United scouts were also present to watch Sanches feature for his side in the 1-0 win over Vitoria de Guimaraes and even managed to get himself on the score sheet.
The Red Devils have been linked with a number of players from the team, with winger Goncalo Guedes also emerging as a possible target for manager Louis van Gaal.
Apart from the mentioned pair, United have been heavily linked with a move for Benfica star Nicolas Gaitan over the past few seasons, but the transfer continuously failed to go through.
