Manchester United have been told they will have to fork out an incredible €1BILLION to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid, reports the Daily Star.
That’s according to the players agent, who revealed the staggering release clause placed on the forward’s head during an interview with Spanish newspaper AS.
Manchester United have been consistently linked with a move to re-sign Ronaldo in the summer, but Mendes believes that is unlikely given the Red Devils would have to fork out €1Billion (£800million) in order to get their man.
He said: “In addition to being the best footballer in history, he is the greatest athlete of all time.
“You cannot compare him with anyone.
“He is the best player in the biggest sport in the world, in which there is more competition than in any other. For that reason, he is the best sportsman in the world.”
“The price that is stated in his release clause – €1bn.”
