Man United’s chances of signing £75m star boosted after manager sacking

Manchester United are looking to make a mega £75million bid for Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale following the sacking of Rafa Benitez from the Los Blancos helm, according to reports from the Mirror.

The La Liga giants axed former Chelsea and Liverpool manager Benitez after just seven months in charge of the 10-time European champions, and the Red Devils believe that his exit has increased their chances of signing Bale in the transfer window.

Benitez’s replacement Zinedine Zidane has reiterated his desire to keep the Wales international at the Santiago Bernabeu, but it is understood that Bale was doing well under Benitez and is disappointed to see the Spaniard depart.

Man United have struggled for creativity and goals so far this term, and are still keen on adding a world class attacker into their ranks with Bale their number one target.

However, Real president Florentino Perez will not allow the 26-year-old to leave easily, as he sees Bale as the perfect successor for Cristiano Ronaldo in the near future.

Bale has made 15 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring nine goals and providing 10 assists.
