Barcelona rejected a mega money summer bid from Manchester United for Brazilian forward Neymar, according to the Mirror.
The 23-year old was linked with a blockbuster move to Old Trafford during the summer, though a move never materialised.
Now, the Brazil captain’s father has revealed how a firm offer was put indeed laid on the table from the North West giants.
‘The offer reached Barcelona and the club contacted us saying they were not going to sell.’
He joined the Catalan juggernauts from Santos in 2013 and the deal has been the subject of much controversy and inquest since.
On the pitch, however, the Selecao star has been a hit, scoring an impressive 39 goals last term as the club won La Liga, Copa Del Rey and Champions League titles.
He forms a stunning front line with teammates Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez as part of the famous ‘MSN’ three pronged attack.
