Manchester City 2-3 Norwich City: Match Review

etihadManchester City ended a disappointing season on an even lower note as Norwich secured an unlikely victory in a five-goal thriller at the Etihad Stadium.

Brian Kidd post-match… “We have fallen short of the standards we set last season, but it hasn’t been for a lack of effort. You defend as a team and attack as a team, so you have to look collectively, but we haven’t reached that consistency.”

Chris Hughton post-match… “The manner in which we achieved this win is most pleasing. You know they (Man City) are going to have the bulk of possession but we did really well with the ball. We were always a threat and I don’t think anyone who saw that would say that we weren’t worthy of what we got today.”

Man of the Match…Jack Rodwell: Who saw that coming? This was a tremendous display from Rodwell, his best in a City shirt, that saw him score two excellent goals and perform like the ‘Rolls Royce’ midfielder he was billed as at Everton.

Flop of the Match…Aleksander Kolarov: This was as hapless as it gets from Kolarov. Struggled to carry out his job correctly at left-wing back and should have done much better for Norwich’s second half goals.
