Manchester City boss concerned over injury

Defensive addition

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is searching for answers over the consistent injuries picked up by defender Vincent Kompany, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Kompany has picked up yet another niggling injury, this time to his groin, and City are struggling to put a date on when their captain will be back in the side.

The Belgian international has been in and out of the City side this season with injuries and Pellegrini knows that his team is weakened without Kompany at the heart of it.

The City boss may well hunt around in January for defensive options depending on the extent of Kompany’s injury, and the Chilean is clearly concerned by the whole situation.

“We are doing all the things we need to in order to understand why he has so many injuries, but you must ask the doctor,” Pellegrini said.

“I’m not a doctor. I talk with him, but I can’t tell you the opinion. All I can say is he might be ready to join in working with the rest of the players in another week or so.”
