Manchester City boss desperate for derby win

Manuel Pellegrini's inexperience

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has claimed that tomorrows Manchester derby is a must win game the blue half of the city, as reported by talkSPORT.

Pellegrini and his counterpart David Moyes will be contesting their first Manchester derbies in a game that could shape the entire season for both sides.

Pellegrini believes that as City are at home, they must go all out for the win with United happy to take a point away from the Etihad.

Dropped points on the road at Cardiff and Stoke has left City with a deficit to the top of the league already and despite impressing in the Champions League on Tuesday night, Pellegrini knows that it is the league form and results against top sides that will ultimately shape their season.

“It’s a match of six points. It’s very important to win it. Playing at home against Manchester United, we must win. It’s more important to win than not to lose.”
