Manchester City are close to wrapping up a deal to sign striker Stevan Jovetic from Fiorentina, according to the Sun.
All that remains to be finalised are personal terms, with the attacker looking for a five-year-deal at the Ethihad worth £120,000 a week.
Manuel Pellegrini earmarked the 23-year-old as his first choice replacement for Carlos Tevez, and it looks as though the Chilean is set to deliver his third big name signing of the summer, after the arrivals of Fernandinho and Jesus Navas.
A source close to the Montenegro star said: “It’s pretty much sorted he’ll go to City.
“They just have to sort his contract. It shouldn’t be a big problem.”
Jovetic’s agents have been in England for the past week finalising a deal for the forward.
It appears as though City have seen off interest from rivals Manchester United for the player, as well as late interest from Liverpool – although the Reds were unable to offer Champions League football.
Jovetic fits the bracket of the young player Pellegrini spoke of wanting to bring to the club last week. His £27million capture will take the clubs spending past £70million during this transfer window.
