Manchester City Defender Set To Request Summer Move

Joleon Lescott

Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott will ask the club’s hierarchy to give him permission to leave the Etihad in the summer according to the Daily Mail.

Lescott was once again overlooked in Roy Hodgson’s England squad this week, with old boy Rio Ferdinand given the nod ahead of him amongst others.

The former Wolves and Everton defender has found first team football hard to come by this season at the Etihad with boss Roberto Mancini favouring Kolo Toure or Matija Nastasic to partner captain Vincent Kompany.

Lescott was a crucial part of City’s Premier League winning side last season but appears to have fallen out with the manager.

The 30 year old wants to save his career and keep his England chances alive by moving on in the summer and City may well be willing to sell for as little as £4million, £20million less than they paid for him in 2010.
