Manchester City have joined the heated Premier League race in bids to land Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus and hopes to beat rivals Chelsea to his signature, Daily Star reports.
The 25-year-old has become a top target for a number of top European sides due to his £20million release clause in his contract which will be activated in the summer, prompting a number of teams to line up a bid.
Apart from the Blues, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are also keeping a close eye on the German attacker who will be free to enter contract discussions once his price is met.
Manuel Pellegrini is believed to be planning a deal that will make him the club’s highest paid player as he hopes to lure him to the Etihad and reject offers from other teams in the league.
Despite Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc stating that Reus will not be sold, he admitted that he had no control over his departure should he decide to leave.
